  • Araku is a hill station which is located at Vishakhapatnam District also known as Vizag which is in Andhra Pradesh. It is a one of the beautiful Tourist spot in AP. It is a valley in the Eastern Ghats inhabited by different tribes. Araku Valley is one of the least polluted and less commercialized tourist destinations in South India.

    Araku Valley Geography:
    It is located 114kms from Vizag. It near to boarder of Orrisa State. The Anantagiri and Sunkarimetta Reserved Forest which are part of Araku Valley, are rich in biodiversity. It is also famous for coffee plantation. In the Andhra Pradesh we can find coffee planation in araku valley only. They export the coffee globally by name "Araku Emerald".

    How we reach Araku valley or Araku Hill Station:
    The Araku valley is connected through both rail and road to the city of Vizag. There are two main railway stations to reach Arku hill station i.e., at Araku and Araku Valley on the Kothavalasa-Kirandul railway line of Visakhapatnam division and Shimiliguda railway.

    In Which time is best to visit Araku valley in Vizag :
    The best time to visit the valley is during March-April when the silent night echoes to the sound of music and dance. And climate also very pleasant and cool a night times and cool breezes coming through valley.

Many people stay in camps. The Ganges flows in the vicinity of the camps. Many hotels also. There are few places in the city that tourists visit to make your journey memorable. It is a good place to relax and enjoy peace in the environment. The next morning after breakfast you can start your journey to Rudraprayag. The trip to Kedarnath in Rudraprayag is 3 hours.

    Gaurikund 

    If you travel from Rudraprayag to Kedarnath, Gaurikund you will go through. According to mythology was the place for the bathroom of Gauri Mata or Goddess Parvathi (wife of Lord Shiva). You can stop here for an hour and then resume the rest of your trip to Kedarnath. This is a place much revered by Hindus.

    Kedarnath 

    Finally, we reach Kedarnath (your destination). The Kedarnath temple is on a hill. You have to walk or take the stairs to reach the temple.     Badrinath 

    Badrinath Kedarnath distance is about 200 km.You have to travel by road. If you start your journey in the morning, you get to Badrinath in the afternoon. It's a good idea to visit the temple of Badrinath, in the light of the day and return at night. You can enjoy your stay in the hotel alongwith delicious surrounding areas. The day after the visual delights of the place, including pure lust vegetation and river water will tempt you. You can stay here for a day or more advance to visit the other major cities in the area. You can start with a place called Govindham after lunch.

    Govindham 

    This city is not as crowed. It is a hill station and a perfect city to spend time amidst the natural beauty. The streets of this city worth being walked and enjoyed. You can sit by the river or camp at night. The next morning you can start your journey to Hemkumd (probably the last turn of the road).

    Hemkund 

    Travel between Govindham and Hemkund (a distance of 19 km) lasts almost 5 hours. The Hemkund Sahib is a very good place for hiking in mountainous terrain. You can sit in front of the shrine and offer prayers. The views from this place are panoramic.

    If you travel from Delhi to Kedarnath and lose Chamoli, Badrinath, Hemkund Govindham or you regret later.

    Shamirpet Lake
