    Kuntala waterfall is the highest waterfall in Telangana. In the midst of dense forests and mountains Sahayadri, the District of Adilabad is bestowed with the beauty of nature at its finest. In the dense forests of the Cordillera Sahayadri many large and small waterfalls, which are fed by the monsoons are present. Most of these waterfalls run through the living habitats of local tribal communities

    Thus giving a feast of ancient and ethnic culture of the tribes amalgamated with Mother Nature; in the eye of the beholder. These waterfalls are Pochera Kuntaala and prominent.

    Kuntala waterfall is the highest waterfall of Andhra Pradesh. About 32 kilometers from the district center and 12Kms of NerediKonda village nestled in dense forests is The Kuntaala Cascada.

    According to local and frequent popular belief Kuntaala waterfall got its name after Shakuntala, the beloved wife of King Dushyanth who fell for each other and were mesmerized by the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Locals also believe that Shakuntaala used to bathe in the waterfall.

    Kanda River flows through dense forests; at this point comes in spurts and drops from a height of 45metres.One have to experience the sight of water splashing down with such force that the water below turn into swirls.

    The air around is filled with mist of water splashing. The cool breeze around you with the aroma of the dense flora. The feeling of ecstasy, one has to experience.

    The beauty of the water splashing and the music of the gushing waters is sure to make the visitor spell bound.

    The beauty of the waterfall is beyond words to the monsoons, when the Kanda River Splash comes with a jet of water from the hill with heavy rain. Hitting the water below a height of 45mts is worth appreciating. The air is covered with a white cloud of mist tickled. The bottom is covered with water as pure as love soft foam.

    Beside Waterfall Kuntaala find the temple of Lord Someshwara Swami, the locals and visitors offer this deity pujas. We came to this temple to pass through a hill slit into two, making a passage. This magnificent carving of nature is very rare to see.

    The festival "Maha Shivaratri" this temple is beautifully decorated and devotees throng the temple in several places in the region.

    How to get there? 

    250 km from Hyderabad, and 45 kms (appoximately) from Nirmal, on National Highway No. 7, and is on track to Adilabad-Nagpur.

    Where to sleep? 

    As these waterfalls are located near the village Neredigonda, you will not find any hotel to stay close. Ideal place to stay in hotels is Nirmal. You will find lots of good hotels in Nirmal.

    Food Facility? 

    You will find some small hotels and Dhabas in Neredigonda Village, which is on the road. You will not enjoy the food, but you can take some snacks and cooldrinks before going to the waterfalls. Take food parcels from Nirmal hotels (on the road), if you go to Hyderabad. How long will be of Hyderabad?

    When to visit? 

    Plan your trip in the months of July to December. So you can enjoy all the flow of rainwater.
