    Overview of Dharmapuri:
    Dharmapuri is on the banks of river Godavari, 78 kms from Karimnagar, is the temple town of Dharmapuri 15th century. Among the prominent temples in the city are the 13th century temple of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple, Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple where Shiva and Vishnu temples exist side by side. River Godavari adds to the scenic splendor.

    Dharmapuri is a village situated at a distance of about 28-30 km from the city and Jagityal Mancherial railway station is 42 km, is located in the Kazipet-Balharsha section of South Central Railway on the banks of Godavari river. The Godavari River flows from west to east, but in Dharmapuri you will notice the river that flows from north to south called as Dakshina Vahini flowing southward.

    Dharmapuri is a Mandal headquarters in Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, India. Dharmapuri has a religious importance of the shrine dedicated to Narasimha Swamy, Lord Vishnu and Siva with Dakshinamurthy, a single block of stone with carved Vinayaka, and Mahishasuramardhani Sapitha Mathrukas, Mahalakshmi temple, Akkapalle Rajanna, sixty pillared temple, and over 500 years old temple Sri Sita Rama Swami are the other important temples of holiness, these temples are the most interesting places to visit in the state.

    Godavari River has Dharmapuri are other places where people can take holy dip some of them are Brahma Gundam, Gundam Yama, Satyavathi Gundam, Gundam Pala. The village of Dharmapuri has given birth to some of the best scholars in Sanskrit.

    The Dharmapuri temple is currently under the direction of the Department of Andhra Pradesh Government has an old Purse Cobre remaing parts representing the \ "Sthala Purana \".

    A large number of devotees Dharmapuri appears daily in 1000 to an average of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha visiting Swamy temple. The shrine was built by the king of Dharmapuri called Dharma Varma and the city was named after his name Dharmapuri was a devotee of Lord Narasimha.

    Dharmapuri is located on the banks of Holy river Godavari therefore also called as Dakshin Kashi.

    Dharmapuri has a large number of Vedic Brahmins in Andhra Pradesh, where a Sri Laxmi Narasimha Sanskrit Sanskrit University Andhra (SLNSA) School is located on the banks of Godavari river. A book has been written by the director of SLNSA College, which has to do with the history of the village 'Dharmapuri Kshetra Charitra' having laudatory notice everything.

    A large number of devotees come to Dharmapuri Narasimha Swamy every year in March and April Laxmi Narasimha Swamy celebrating Jatara.
