    Overview of Basara 
    Basara Temple is situated 200 kms away from Hyderabd, Andhra Pradesh, India. This temple is situated on the banks of river Godavari and the only temple in the south, which is dedicated to the goddess of learning Saraswati. It is a known pilgrimage temple, devotees traveling with their children to the ceremony of Akshara puja to start abhyasam Akshara or the education of their children with the blessings of the goddess of knowledge Saraswati.

    Gnana Saraswati Temple in Andhra Pradesh at Basara prominently. Basara is located 30 km from Nizamabad, north Telangana region. The temple is an ancient story dedicated to Goddess Saraswati

    This famous Basara Saraswati temple is only 110 km from Nanded and falls in Adilabad District of Andhra Pradesh. Basara is well connected and byRail road from Nanded. The temple is one of the two famous Saraswati temples in India, the other is in Kashmir.

    There is a marble image of Valmiki and his samadhi near the temple. It is believed that this temple is one of the three temples constructed near the confluence of the rivers Godavari and Manjira Ashtrakutas.

    The image of Lakshmi stands besides Goddess Saraswati in the sanctum sanctorium. Due to the presence of Saraswati, Lakshmi and Kali, Basara is considered as the adobe of the divine trinity.

    This Basara temple draws large crowds, especially for poojas and celebrations taking place in the temple during Mahasivarathri, starting 15 days before the Vasantha Panchami in February or March, and continuing 3 days after the festival. Navarathrulu Devi is celebrated for ten days during Dasara.
